Gamer's Edge: The Book of Judgment

Acts of Gord was a website detailing the everyday frustrations of Gord, the owner of Gamer's Edge: World Renowned Video Game Store of the Future. These fictional tales were inspired by his true stories.

These early ones are hard to look at now. Keep going, they get better.
How did this happen? A videogame site offered Gord tons of money for a comic based on his site. Gord offered me the job. The game site backed out. I made the comic anyway, because why not.
I didn't meet Gord until long after starting this comic. Though he looks nothing like this character, it was freaky spending time with a character from my own comics.
This is the first appearance of Tom, who became a main character in part 2. That's thinking ahead!
The original plan was for Gord to write and me to illustrate, but I just wrote everything myself because writing is way for fun than drawing.
The Sears demo toilet thing is absolutely based on a true story. One of my mother's favorite tales of my youth.
This family's last name is Nosukja. It's Korean for homeless.
I was big on drawing my friends in backgrounds back then.
I had a weird rule in this comic that I wouldn't use the name of any real video game. But I had a lot of fun making up fake ones.
I was teaching in Korea at the time, and my students named most of the characters.
Vance Verbrakke appears in tons of my comics, whenever a shady character needs a lawyer.
Chapter 2 is where this started getting good.
